1. Enlistment Bonus

The amount of your enlistment bonus depends on the length of the contract and the desired Military Occupational Specialty (MOS).

The Army offers incentives for signing up for a longer tour such as a three, four, or five-year commitment instead of the minimum 2-year contract.

Recruits can sign up for a series of bonuses combined to equal up to $50,000, but keep in mind that every new recruit doesn’t see that much money.

The amount of your bonus largely depends on your MOS, with certain high-demand military jobs receiving bonuses from $3,000-$15,000.

4. Army Reserve Enlistment Bonus

The Army bonus list is not just limited to active duty service members.

You may be eligible for up to $20,000 in bonuses for joining the Army Reserves.

The bonus allows you to serve part-time while receiving a hefty incentive.

Additionally, officer candidates for the Army Reserve may qualify for additional bonus earnings.

5. Army Loan Repayment Program

The military is really good about providing financial aid to students looking to get vocational certificates or college degrees.

Under the Army Loan Repayment Program (LRP) you can have up to $65,000 of your current outstanding student loan debt paid off as an enlistment bonus.

6. Civilian Acquired Skills Bonus

Not every recruit joins the Army right after high school.

Do you have some college or occupational training? Did you work in a special skills field before deciding to enlist?

If so, you may qualify for the Civilian Acquired Skills Program (ACASP). In most cases, you’ll enter the services with a higher rank of E-3 Specialist or higher.

Along with potential bonuses and higher rank (and the pay and allowances that go with it), you may also have a good idea of where you’ll be stationed after you finish boot camp.

Bonuses are available under theACASP programfor foreign language speakers headed for intelligence careers. But not all fields are that specialized.
